Not many people are willing to sit down with members of the Ku Klux Klan. Daryl Davis, musician, activist, and author, has met with dozens of them over the years, helping them to abandon their hateful beliefs and inspire others to join them.
FCAS recently interviewed Daryl to hear his amazing story and learn more about his groundbreaking work deradicalizing members of the KKK. His work is propelled by a question he’s been asking since he was 10 years old: “Why do you hate me when you know nothing about me?” He believes eradicating hate begins with education: “[If] you fix the ignorance, there’s nothing to fear. If there’s nothing to fear, there’s nothing to hate. If there’s nothing to hate, there’s nothing or no one to destroy.”
Daryl is proof that one person can make a real difference. Watch part one of our interview.
